MY HEART SWELLS

"The artist is a receptacle for the emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web."
 Pablo Picasso

My Heart Swells

I have fallen from my grace--
wind is displeased
with me as
I find it hard to remember
how to use my wings.

I know I love you,
but how to do that
in this mortal body
with blood and bones
as
fear sings hallelujah
like no other song.

I know if I embrace you
my heart will
burn through
my chest—
a web of fire.

My insides will
beget consistency.
Heaven and the
bursting sublime
beget
wonders question—
a question  that
will never be asked
as

your body bends like a bridge
strong, sturdy, and intuitive
slowly
spinning through me
stealing from the
broken-hearted
me.

  2. rich with emotions...the finding it hard to rembember to use the wings...the not knowing how to love him with blood and bones in the face of fear..and then his body bending like a bridge.. great symbolism in this and yeah...some heat as well...smiles
