MY DEAR,

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. ~Kahlil Gibran

My Dear,

Do you know
what you
could have had
until you don’t have it?
The stroll under the
urban sunset,
a dream falling to less of a dream,
and more of a stark reality.
Do you know
what you had now
that you don’t have it?
I am flanked in between
the moments between moments.
When is the time
the right time?
Do you know,
as my hand reaches for your
hand,
the linking of four finger
interwoven in four fingers is a
privileged
connection--
more private than a slow dance,
hotter than the door handle to hell.
