THREE VAGABONDS

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the
things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.”
- Mark Twain, Author

Three Vagabonds

A rolling suitcase, an expert.
A carry on, an observer.
A pillowcase, a dreamer.

A yellow sun is bonding

three vagabonds descending
life’s driveway, blending in

with the green budding trees,
a thin layer of chartreuse pollen blanketing
the intimate scent of mother earth.

A Southern morning breeze;
we three are
caught in the heart of the gospel.

Across the street Jesus shares

the Sunday ministry, a pulsing life
packed in the Georgian-laden pews,
we are joined and soon to be parted.

He is you
and we are him,
secured in the belt
of the love you live.

You tame and cultivate;
he surges and excites.

We are a beautiful combination of magi’s energy.

One watcher,
one lover,
one believer.
