“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
Thich Naht Hanh
Circulation
Violet sky whispers light,
soaking color from the lotus.
Late lauders of the break
sing diligently hallelujah.
Soft gossamer haze lifts
from mossy cobblestone
giving truth to daylight.
Spirituality begins with earth,
ascending life’s energy,
humming with each bone.
The apex of the heightened
heart descends peacefully
in moments of silence.
Sitting quietly, the inner chatter
begins to settle and anchor.
Cyclical posture is the river
rising to a chosen passage.
In the noise, there is silence
without the rise of the hands,
without the voice of reason,
God’s wisdom will proclaim.

in the noise there is silence without raising a hand...those words caught me for some reason...really cool imagery in this....the haze on the cobblestone in particular...
ReplyDeleteGot to agree with Brian - those lines really caught my attention too
ReplyDeleteI hear the hallelujah loudly in this poem. Yes, spirituality begins with earth and goes from there....
ReplyDeleteA lovely reminder to take time for prayer/meditation. I especially like:

ReplyDeletewithout the rise of the hands...so beautifully captured...
(just a small remark on word verification...trying for the third time now...almost unreadable..ugh..will give up if it doesn't come through this time...)
I love the imagery of the first and third stanzas especially. Nicely done!
